Course Description
This is a challenging seminar in which students are introduced to the fundamental issue of methodology in art historical (and cultural) analysis. Through a highly selective series of texts, the course presents an introductory overview of some of the major literature and interpretive models that have been developed, contested, and in some cases overturned, throughout the history of art history.
