Course Description
This course will focus on issues in child clinical psychology and review the emergence of the discipline of developmental psychopathology. Issues to be covered include the aetiology of childhood disorders such as autism; conduct disorder, eating disorders and attachment disorders. The concepts of resilience, prevention and treatment will also be explored.The course will pay special attention to issues of context including gender, ethnicity and culture. We will also use the New York City to exemplify the role of policy and poverty.
